Tending the Soul

About Anne Fry

Tending the Soul with Anne Fry

Anne Fry has long been involved with the development of others’ lives.  She was a pioneer of the Christian School Movement in Queensland from the mid 70s. From there, she spent 20 years at Christian Heritage College in Brisbane. For the first twelve years she was the Field Studies Coordinator in the School of Education, with particular interests in the mentoring and spiritual formation of students and teachers. In 2003, she moved to become Program Coordinator in the School of Christian Studies and the college’s Pastoral Care Coordinator. Each of these roles gave her rich opportunities to accompany others on their personal and spiritual journeys.

Anne trained in Spiritual Direction and subsequently in Supervision at the Mercy Centre in Burlingame, San Francisco. She has practiced as a Spiritual Director both at CHC and in private practice for several years. She loves working with others in Spiritual Direction, Soul Care, Supervision and also in the facilitating of Quiet Days, Retreats, Contemplative Prayer Groups, and Workshops in the area of Christian Spirituality.

Her scholarly interests centre around the role of liminal experiences and spacious listening in the process of spiritual transformation and also in the use of historical spiritual practices to deepen personal spirituality.

Anne enjoys reading, writing and conversing about the spiritual journey. She is married to Kevin and loves spending time with her family and three grandchildren.
